About The Koutoubia Mosque

The Koutoubia is the great mosque of Marrakech, among the monuments of the Almoravid and Almohad centuries that UNESCO names in the medina. Its minaret rises 77 metres; the Moroccan National Tourist Office calls it the lighthouse of Marrakech and notes that its design inspired the Hassan Tower in Rabat and the Giralda in Seville. It is a working mosque: in Morocco non-Muslims generally admire mosques from outside, and the gardens around it are open to everyone.

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with The Koutoubia Mosque before you go.
